Help needed with Telephone Kiosk Refurbishment
In order to make it ready for
the installation of the Public Access Defibrillator the kiosk in the Square
needs to be refurbished. It is in a very poor state of repair, is not watertight
and hasn’t been painted for many years.
The plan is to replace the
rotten door frame which is wooden, remove all the glazing, strip it all back to
bare metal and re-paint it properly, then install new signage, lighting and fit
a replacement backboard onto which the defibrillator will be fitted. (Hopefully
by the end of March)
If you can offer some of your
time between now and the 15th March - either in helping to remove the glazing
or in stripping the metalwork of old putty, filler and paint - your help would
be very welcome. A few hours from lots
of volunteers will help expedite the process.
