Minutes of Previous AGM

These were taken as read.  It was agreed that the minutes of this meeting would be published in the Parish Newsletter.

Madge Trophy

Bob Beecroft of Lilley Cottage again won this.  Peter will retrieve the trophy from Bob and arrange for it to be inscribed.  Peter reminded everyone that the trophy is awarded for the best front garden.  Each year the judging is advanced a month to give everyone a fair chance.  Next year the judging will be in June.

Secretary’s Report

Hazel reported that there had been three committee meetings this year with an average of eight members at each.  A spring supper was planned for February 5 but unfortunately had to be cancelled due to lack of interest.   This also happened last year.  A bring and share supper was held following the Annual Parish Meeting on May 21.  The final event of the year was a Pimm’s, Paté and Puddings lunch at Broomsticks on September 11. This was well attended and despite being rather chilly was enjoyed by everyone.

Chairman’s Report

Peter talked about the difficulty of judging demand and timing of events.  The bring and share supper following the Annual Parish Meeting had only half as many people as the previous year.  There was a discussion about how we could advertise our events better and ensure everyone realised they were all members of the association.

AOB

A card was read from Steve thanking us for a gift token.

Val asked Sue if anything had come out of the parish plan questionnaire that the WHVA could take on.  Sue said that she would give us a copy of the suggestions.  Peter reminded everyone that we came into being to raise money for the history group.  As well as running events we are available to support others who organise events.  Marion mentioned that she will soon be having another tree planting and would appreciate help.

Next Meeting will be held at Broomsticks, Main Street on Tuesday 10 January 2006 at 7.30pm.
