West Hagbourne Village Association Annual Report May 2016----May 2017

Queen’s Birthday Party Event 12^th June 2016 :

This was organised with the Parish Council at the Horse and Harrow where many residents enjoyed entertainment and a lovely buffet provided by Helen and Tony.

Madge Trophy :

The annual judging of the front gardens took place on 1^st August, 2016. The judge, Mrs. Angela Phillips, chose joint winners, 10 and 14 Manor Close. Highly commended, 16, York Road.

West Hagbourne Village Association Annual General Meeting, 14^th November at the Horse and Harrow. :

Committee members elected were:

Chairperson: Val Walton, Vice Chairman: Ian Leishman

Treasurer: June Little

Secretary: Margaret Leishman

Executive Committee : Bridget Pickup, Robert Griffiths, Hazel Rack, Betty Kendrick, Pierre Aller, Eva Pinkava, Emma Rickard, Rob Rickard.

Robert Griffiths has kindly agreed to be responsible for the hire of the village marquees.

The New Year Village Walk took place on Sunday 8^th, January, 2017

St. George’s Day, Dragon Competition and Spring Walk 23^rd April 2017 :

It was decided to combine the spring village walk with the St. George’s Day celebration at Chapel Hayes where over 60 people enjoyed delicious cakes and refreshments. The judging of the dragons by Mrs. Jayne Taboada, from Didcot, took place on Friday, 21^st April. Prizes were awarded to

1^stPrize: Suffolk Lodge, 2^nd Prize, 5, Manor Close,

Children’s Prize:Wycherts

Thanks go to Malcolm Brownsword who produced fantastic photos and an audio visual production of the dragons.
