Committee meeting held at Woodleys on July 1 2008

Madge Trophy

Roger Phipps has agreed to judge the gardens this year. Peter will try and arrange this for 5 or 6 August. Bridget, Betty, June, Marion and Val would all like to accompany Peter if possible. Once the date has been agreed, Peter will arrange for it to be advertised on the notice boards.

Pimms Lunch

Hazel has prepared a flyer, which June will photocopy. The marquee frames will be erected in Marion’s garden on the Saturday before. Help needed please. Peter will arrange for the tables and chairs. He will also ask Andrea for the tablecloths. June will buy plastic tumblers for the Pimms. The catering committee will meet at Betty’s on the 15^th at 11am to plan food and drinks. The history group will organise a display. It was agreed that Peter would invite the new Rector.

Val said that the members of the history group were concerned that their numbers are now small and would like to do more to make people aware of their existence. They were interested in our plans to celebrate St. George’s Day and would like to be involved. A joint meeting will be planned towards the end of the year.

The next meeting will be 8pm Tuesday 23 September at Fairview, Main Street.
