Matter arising: Marquees:In Rob’s absence, Hazel reported that there had been several bookings over the summer and early autumn, generating some very useful income (see Treasurer’s report).  Rob has bought some new pegs to replace lost ones. All the equipment is now stored together at the farm making it a lot easier to manage.

Queen’s Birthday Party Event 12th June 2016: this very successful event organised with the Parish Council was attended by almost 100 villagers along with regulars from the Horse & Harrow. Our financial contribution, which was given to the Parish Council, was £250.00. As a gesture of our gratitude to Helen, for all her hard work with the catering and provision of the entertainment, all agreed that we should present her with a bouquet of flowers at the forthcoming AGM, which is to be held at the Horse and Harrow. Margaret will organise this.

Madge Trophy: the annual garden competition took place on the 1st August. Angela Phillips judged the gardens and her report has been published in the recent village newsletter. This year’s joint winners were:10 and 14, Manor Close, with a special mention to 16, York Rd. The trophy has already been engraved and will be shared by the winners during the forthcoming year.

Treasurer’s Report: June reported the Association’s account stands at £1,102-31. A total income of £165.00 has been received from marquee and equipment hire over the summer, and our main expense was the £250.00 contribution towards the Queen’s Birthday Party event.

The necessary paperwork to change the signatories on the account has now been obtained. June and Margaret, who are the 2 new appointed, joint signatories, will deliver the completed forms to Barclays Bank, Didcot, next week.

Future Events:AGM- Monday 14th November 2016, to be held at the Horse & Harrow at 7:15pm.  Margaret will put up posters around the village inviting any interested villagers to attend.

St George’s Day celebration/event -April 2017: there was some discussion as to the best way of generating more interest within the village to celebrate this important day.  Members will consider possible ideas and bring them along to the AGM for further discussion.

AOB:there was none to discuss.

Date of next meeting: Monday 20th February 2017 at 7:30pm, to be held at Betty’s house, Driftway, York Rd.

Many thanks to Val for hospitality.
