West
Hagbourne celebrated the Queen's Diamond Jubilee on Saturday 2nd
June with a very enjoyable pig-roast which was held at York Farm
by kind permission of Mr and Mrs Allen. The pig roast was followed
by music and displays by members of the Rose Hips bellydancing
troupe, the Longmynds Choir and Lepton Morris, a team of Morris
dancers, all of which included people from the village amongst
their members. Malcolm Brownsword showed an interesting audiovisual
show of his photos of recent village events and wildlife.
The
weather was warm and dry, the food was delicious, and a very good
time was had by all.
Thanks
are due of course to Dickie and Mary Allen and all the people
who gave up their time in the preparations for the event both
beforehand and on the day, those who prepared the delicious desserts
and not forgetting all those who assisted in the clearing up afterwards.
